Lovi Poe and Carla Abellana pretty much hold the film together. Abellana mixes her coldness with fragility, the veneer of contempt threatening to break apart at any moment. But the regret of her character is deeply My neighbors wife, and that really helps the overall drama.
And Jake Cuenca really has trouble when reaching for big emotions. It could have been the kind of dark, mature story that the mainstream seems incapable of producing these days.
In its best moments, the film shares a devastatingly toxic picture of marriage, one where forgiveness My neighbors wife mere lip service, and betrayal can only be answered by more betrayal. But the film lets a measure of romance enter the picture, scraping away at neighbofs darkness with ill-fitting pop songs and proclamations of love, then playing things out as predictably as possible.
